Qum's green escapes — from the camping and BBQ grounds of Alavi to the lake at Javan, the women-only Narges Park, and the family-friendly Koodak.
Despite sitting in a desert environment, Qum has made considerable efforts to create and maintain green parks for locals and visitors to enjoy. A few of the main ones are below.
Alavi
One of the oldest and best-known parks in Qum. With its large green spaces, Alavi is among the city’s most important camping and BBQ sites, with all the essentials — bathrooms, a prayer room, gazebos, public BBQ grills and parking. There are also spaces for football, a skating and bike park, and a children’s playground. A two-person chairlift gives beautiful views of the park and surroundings, and there’s an adjacent amusement park.
Javan
Though on the outskirts of the city, Javan Park is worth the trip for its large, 15 m deep man-made lake — with pedal boats for hire — and a mountainous track for climbing.
Narges
One of Qum’s women-only parks, Narges often hosts women’s sports competitions such as running and cycling. Facilities include a cycling and skating track (bicycles can be hired for a small fee), a children’s playground, a ball pit, trampolines and a bouncy castle, plus a swimming pool, a gymnasium, a library and various art and handicraft exhibitions.
Ghadeer
The largest park in Qum, at around 140 hectares, Ghadeer is split into several sections: a camping site, the Abotab water park, woodlands, playing fields, green areas and an amusement park.
Koodak

One of the newer parks in the city, Koodak is well maintained and clean. Its unique appeal is a huge sandpit and water play area that can occupy children for hours.
Bonyadi
Another large park with many facilities, Bonyadi has a beautiful fountain and multiple walkways to enjoy.
